The Lookout 12 x 12 Oil on Birch Wood Panel

$200.00

Imagine you’re walking quietly through the woods when you notice him.

A fox, standing perfectly still beside an old tree stump, his attention fixed on something just beyond your view. At his feet, morel mushrooms push up through the forest floor. Maybe he’s watching for danger. Or maybe he’s simply keeping an eye on his dinner.

The Lookout began as an experiment in oil on birch wood panel. I wanted to leave the natural grain visible, so the painting would feel like it belonged in the woods, not simply be a picture of them. The fox and mushrooms came together naturally, creating a little scene that might be happening whether anyone was there to see it or not.

Maybe the fox noticed something you would have walked right past. Maybe that’s the invitation—to stop, look closer, and pay attention to what catches your own eye.

You don’t have to see what everyone else sees. You get to decide what makes you stop. What sparks your curiosity. What feels like yours.

That’s what it means to claim your wild.
