The forest changes when the sun goes down.
What was familiar in the daylight becomes something quieter, darker, and a little more mysterious.
I painted this group of mushrooms at night because I love the thought of a world continuing to unfold long after we’ve gone inside.
While we sleep, the forest is still busy.
Mushrooms emerge. Creatures move through the shadows. Leaves rustle. Things grow.
There is an entire world happening in the darkness that we rarely get to see.
Night Mushroom is a reminder that we don’t have to see everything for it to be there.
Sometimes the most interesting things are happening just beyond what we can see.
8 × 10 unframed print on Red River UltraPro Satin Paper and hand signed by the artist.
